Pierce went on to lose 9-4 against Jason Gunnlaugson (Morris, MB). Pierce responded with a 11-7 win over Paul Flemming (Halifax, NS). Pierce won 11-5 against Michael Fournier (Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC), then won 9-2 against Peter Mackey (Iqaluit, NU). Pierce went on to lose 8-7 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.
