To advance to the championship game, Harty won 6-1 over Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2020 ATB Banff Classic in Banff, Alberta, Canada;
 
Harty finished 5-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Harty defeated Ryan Jacques (Edmonton, AB) 7-6, then won 6-3 against Ted Appelman (Edmonton, AB) and 8-5 against Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB). Harty went on to lose 8-5 against Koe. Harty responded with a 8-7 win over Evan van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB). Harty won 5-4 against Bottcher in their final qualifying round match.
