To advance to the championship game, Lukowich won 7-5 over Mark Johnson (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 1992 Smithers Curling Classic in Smithers, British Columbia, Canada; and won 1-0 over Rick Folk (Kelowna, BC) in the quarterfinals.

Lukowich finished in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Smithers Curling Classic Championship title, Lukowich earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $25,000CDN first prize cheque.
