Kaatz finished 3-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kaatz defeated McLeod 10-3, then went on to lose 8-4 against Watling. Kaatz responded with a 6-0 win over Shae Bevan (Winnipeg, MB). Kaatz won 5-2 against Emma Jensen (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the MCT Showdown, Kaatz take home 2.750 world rankings points along with the $1,000CDN prize.
