Oake finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Oake defeated Kurtwood McGuire (Thunder Bay, ON) 8-2, then won 7-6 against Andrew Manson (Calgary, AB). Oake went on to lose 8-3 against van Amsterdam. Oake responded with a 8-7 win over Carter Babij (Vermillion, AB). Oake went on to lose 7-3 against Zack Shurtleff (Toronto, ON). Oake responded with a 9-8 win over Jacob Reid (Sault Ste Marie, ON). Oake won 10-2 against Richard in their final qualifying round match.
