Yamaguchi won 9-2 against Junpei Kanda (Tokyo, JPN), then won 9-3 against Hiroki Yoshioka (Okayama, JPN) and 8-2 against Kotaro Noguchi (Miyagi, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Yamaguchi earned 17.328 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Japan National Championship. For week 30 of the event schedule, Yamaguchi did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Yamaguchi ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
