To advance to the championship game, Magnusson won 4-3 over Andreas Adersteg (Sundbyberg, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2020 Swedish Championships in Jonkoping, Sweden; and won 6-4 over Fredrik Nyman (Leksand, SWE) in the quarterfinals. of the 2020 Swedish Championships in Jonkoping, Sweden;
Magnusson finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Magnusson lost 5-4 to Gustav Koehn (Gavle, SWE), droppimg another game, 5-4 to Tony Poelder (Jonkoping, SWE) where Magnusson responded with a 5-3 win over Emil Markusson (Ostersund, SWE). Magnusson won 10-3 against Mats Wrana (Sundbyberg, SWE), then won 8-1 against Viktor Gustafsson (Sodertalje, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
