Laura Johnston (North Bay, NONT) run at the 2020 Northern Ontario Scotties Championship came to an end in the semifinals with a 7-5 loss to Krysta Burns (Sudbury, NONT). of the 2020 Northern Ontario Scotties Championship in Temiskaming Shores, Ontario;

Johnston finished 2-4 in the 7-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Johnston lost 10-6 to Burns, droppimg another game, 9-3 to Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, NONT). Johnston lost 8-7 to Abby Deschene (Sudbury, NONT). Johnston lost 8-7 to Bella Croisier (Sudbury, NONT) where Johnston responded with a 11-7 win over Mandy Gebhardt (New Liskeard, NONT). Johnston won 9-8 against Camille Daly (Sudbury, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.

Johnston earned 3.188 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Northern Ontario Scotties Championship, moving up 128 spots the World Ranking Standings into 213th place overall with 3.188 total points.
