In their opening game, Retchless lost 9-6 to Andrew Woolston (Kent, ENG), then responded with a 9-3 win over Owen Rees (Brighton, ENG). Retchless won 8-4 against Stuart Brand (Kent, ENG), then won 9-3 against Rees and 8-4 against Woolston. Retchless won 8-2 against Brand in their final qualifying round match.
