Scott McDonald (Kingston, ON) run at the 2020 Ontario Tankard came to an end in the semifinals with a 11-5 loss to Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene , ON). of the 2020 Ontario Tankard in Cornwall, Ontario;

McDonald won 9-4 against Mark Kean (London, ON). McDonald went on to lose 7-6 against John Willsey (Waterloo, ON). McDonald responded with a 9-4 win over Matthew Hall (Kitchener, ON). McDonald won 8-7 against Steve Allen (Ottawa, ON). McDonald went on to lose 10-8 against John Epping (Toronto, ON). McDonald responded with a 9-4 win over Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

McDonald earned 12.941 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Ontario Tankard. McDonald move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 8.401 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 19th overall with 196.062 total points on the World Ranking Standings. McDonald ranks 21st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 173.166 points earned so far this season.
