Joseph Calabrese (Rochester, NY) lost 10-2 to Ivaylo Petrov (Plainfield, NJ) in the Final of the GNCC Club Playdowns, held December 19 - 22, 2019 in Schenectady, New York.
 
Calabrese finished 4-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Calabrese defeated Murray Jackson (Durham, NC) 8-4, then went on to lose 8-7 against Edward Scimia (Bridgeport, CT). Calabrese responded with a 7-6 win over Evan Mullaney (Wayland, MA). Calabrese won 9-2 against Matthew Pring (Bucks County, PA) to advance to the B-Qualifier where they 9-1 against Mark Mooney (Plainfield, NJ) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
