Moores/Wheeler responded with a 6-3 win over Ann Podoll/Nathan Parry (Fargo, ND). Moores/Wheeler went on to lose 7-5 against Minnesota's Kim Rhyme/Jason Smith in their final qualifying round match.

Moores/Wheeler earned 2.109 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 668th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 2.11 after improving upon their best so far this season. Moores/Wheeler ranks 90th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 15.392 points earned so far this season.
