Jan Hess (Zug, SUI) qualified for the 2020 Aberdeen International Curling Championship playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-5 against Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO).

Hess finished 2-2 in the 17-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hess defeated Peng Han (CHANGCHUN, CHN) 8-5, then won 9-3 against Fredrik Nyman (Stockholm, SWE). Hess went on to lose 6-5 against Magnus Ramsfjell (Trondheim, NOR). Hess lost 7-2 to Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.

Hess earned 14.780 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Aberdeen International Curling Championship.
