De Cruz won 6-2 against Simon Gempeler (Adelboden, SUI). De Cruz went on to lose 8-7 against Jan Hess (Zug, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Schweizer Cup Championship title, De Cruz earned 26.996 world rankings points along with the $6,704CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 8th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 369.831 total points. De Cruz ranks 10th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 233.581 points earned so far this season.
