Ugurcan Karagoz (Eruzurum, TUR) finished 6-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Karagoz defeated Konstantin Rykov (Vilnius, LTU) 8-6, then won 6-3 against Martins Truksans (Riga, LAT) and 8-2 against Sebastian Wunderer (Kitzbuehel, AUT). Karagoz won 7-2 against France's Eddy Mercier, then won 8-3 against Ilya Shalamitski (Minsk, BLR). Karagoz went on to lose 8-5 against Borys Jasiecki (Sopot, POL). Karagoz responded with a 7-5 win over Alex Pokras (Metulla, ISR) in their final qualifying round match.

Karagoz earned 10.688 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the Le Gruyere AOP European B Curling Championships, moving up 239 spots the World Ranking Standings into 220th place overall with 11.731 total points.
