Martins Truksans (Riga, LAT) finished 4-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Truksans defeated Alex Pokras (Metulla, ISR) 8-3, then went on to lose 6-3 against Ugurcan Karagoz (Eruzurum, TUR). Truksans lost 7-5 to Ilya Shalamitski (Minsk, BLR) where Truksans responded with a 10-6 win over France's Eddy Mercier. Truksans won 5-4 against Konstantin Rykov (Vilnius, LTU). Truksans went on to lose 11-6 against Borys Jasiecki (Sopot, POL). Truksans responded with a 8-5 win over Sebastian Wunderer (Kitzbuehel, AUT) in their final qualifying round match.

Truksans earned 5.344 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 11 spots the World Ranking Standings into 150th place overall with 24.338 total points. Truksans ranks 109th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 22.959 points earned so far this season.
