Jermu Pollanen (Hyvinkaa, FIN) finished 5-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pollanen defeated Spain's Sergio Vez 8-1, then won 6-5 against Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE) and 8-5 against Reto Seiler (Sofia, BUL). Pollanen won 9-5 against Otto Kalocsay (Budapest, HUN). Pollanen went on to lose 8-6 against James Pougher (Deeside, WAL). Pollanen responded with a 9-2 win over Pavol Pitonak (Bratislava, SVK). Pollanen went on to lose 12-9 against Harri Lill (Tallinn, EST) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Le Gruyere AOP European B Curling Championships, Pollanen take home 19.594 world rankings points, moving up 34 spots the World Ranking Standings into 96th place overall with 49.781 total points. Pollanen ranks 69th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 43.718 points earned so far this season.
