Aleksandr Burdakov (Moscow, RUS) qualified for the 2020 Moscow Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 9-1 against Mikhail Vaskov (Dmitrov, RUS).

Burdakov finished 2-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Burdakov defeated Russia's German Doronin 8-5, then went on to lose 8-2 against Alexey Timofeev (St. Petersburg, RUS). Burdakov responded with a 6-1 win over Germany's Sixten Totzek in their final qualifying round match.

For week 29 of the event schedule, Burdakov did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
