Kim won 7-5 against TaeWoong Shin (Incheon, KOR), then won 7-2 against Jeong. Kim went on to lose 8-6 against Kim in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Korean National Championship, Kim take home 9.405 world rankings points.
