Barker finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Barker defeated Saskatchewan's Lorraine Arguin 7-6, then won 9-2 against Rae Ann Williamson (Regina, SK) and 5-3 against Jana Tisdale (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Moose Jaw SWCT Event Championship title, Barker earned 22.867 world rankings points along with the $1,500CDN first prize cheque.
