Bottcher won 9-6 against Bryan Cochrane (Cornwall, PEI), then won 9-5 against Matt Dunstone (Regina, SK). Bottcher went on to lose 5-4 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, CAN). Bottcher responded with a 10-3 win over John Epping (Toronto, ON). Bottcher won 4-2 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
