Johnson finished 4-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Johnson defeated Matt Bijil (Winnipeg, MB) 7-4, then won 6-3 against Brett Walter (Winnipeg, MB) and 6-1 against Emerson Klimpke (Brandon, MB). Johnson won 6-4 against Manitoba's Brooks Freeman in their final qualifying round match.
