CHAMPION: Kitz/Stewart Wins 2020 Sutherland Mixed Doubles Curling Classic

Chaelynn Kitz/Brayden Stewart (Saskatoon, SK) won 6-4 over Tahli Gill/Dean Hewitt (Brisbane, AUS) in the Final of the Sutherland Mixed Doubles Curling Classic, held February 7 - 9, 2020 at the Sutherland Curling Club in Saskatoon, . To advance to the championship game, Kitz/Stewart won 6-3 over Kaitlyn Lawes/Connor Lawes (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2020 Sutherland Mixed Doubles Curling Classic in Saskatoon; and won 9-6 over Nancy Martin/Brady Scharback (Saskatoon, SK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2020 Sutherland Mixed Doubles Curling Classic in Saskatoon;

Kitz/Stewart finished 2-0 in the 25-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kitz/Stewart defeated Ashley Thevenot/Dustin Kalthoff (Saskatoon, SK) 6-5, then won 10-8 against Cheng Yu Sun/Wen Xin Zhang (Beijing, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Sutherland Mixed Doubles Curling Classic Championship title, Kitz/Stewart earned 26.965 world rankings points along with the $1,400CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 668th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 26.964 after improving upon their best so far this season. Kitz/Stewart ranks 36th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 50.802 points earned so far this season.
