Jones finished 3-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jones defeated Trevor Hanson (Oromocto, NB) 7-3, then won 7-2 against Mike Flannery (Fredericton, NB) and 7-3 against Wayne Tallon (Fredericton, NB). Jones went on to lose 8-4 against Murphy in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Steele Cup Cash Championship title, Jones earned 14.012 world rankings points along with the $2,400CDN first prize cheque.
