In their opening game, Medford defeated Sangwoo Park (Korea, KOR) 7-3, then went on to lose 6-2 against Sergei Glukhov (Sochi, RUS). Medford lost 5-3 to Jacob Libbus (Edmonton , AB) where Medford responded with a 8-7 win over Shingo Usui (Kitami, JPN). Medford went on to lose 7-2 against Kalem Hamilton (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Medford earned 1.981 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 51 spots the World Ranking Standings into 282nd place overall with 5.699 total points. Medford ranks 194th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.981 points earned so far this season.
