Rachel Homan/John Morris (Canmore, AB) won 11-7 over Sarah Anderson/Korey Dropkin (Minneapolis, USA) in the Final of the Qualico Mixed Doubles Classic, held January 2 - 5, 2020 at the Banff Curling Club in Banff, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Homan/Morris won 7-4 over Marlene Albrecht/Matt Wozniak (Zurich, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2020 Qualico Mixed Doubles Classic in Banff, Alberta, Canada; and won 6-2 over Saskatchewan's Nancy Martin/Tyrel Griffith in the quarterfinals. of the 2020 Qualico Mixed Doubles Classic in Banff, Alberta, Canada;
Homan/Morris finished 5-0 in the 36-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan/Morris defeated Karen Dreaver/Mitch Dublanica (Canmore, AB) 10-4, then won 7-3 against Hungary's Ildiko Szekeres/Gyorgy Nagy and 7-4 against Erin Pincott/Matt Dunstone (Kamloops, BC). Homan/Morris won 10-2 against F. Tod/M. Tod (Okotoks, AB), then won 9-6 against Shannon Birchard/Catlin Schneider (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Qualico Mixed Doubles Classic Championship title, Homan/Morris earned 57.294 world rankings points along with the $8,500CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 668th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 44.372 after improving upon their best so far this season. Homan/Morris ranks 9th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 95.123 points earned so far this season.
