Richard Krell (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON) lost 4-2 to Mark Kean (Woodstock, ON) in the Final of the Port Elgin Superspiel, held November 15 - 17, 2019 at the Port Elgin Curling Club in Port Elgin, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Krell won 7-6 over Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) in the semifinals of the 2019 Port Elgin Superspiel in Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-2 over Chad Allen (Brantford, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2019 Port Elgin Superspiel in Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada;
 
Krell finished 3-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Krell defeated Dale Kelly (Chatham, ON) 5-3, then went on to lose 8-4 against John Willsey (Waterloo, ON). Krell responded with a 7-3 win over Matt Dupuis (Ottawa, ON). Krell won 8-6 against Cory Heggestad (Stroud, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Port Elgin Superspiel, Krell take home 18.308 world rankings points along with the $2,500CDN prize. Krell move up 21 spots after posting a net gain of 15.394 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 72nd overall with 65.612 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Krell ranks 57th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 48.127 points earned so far this season.
