Daylan Vavrek (Sexsmith, AB) lost 6-3 to Jeremy Harty (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the Original 16 WCT Bonspiel, held November 8 - 10, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Vavrek won 6-5 over William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals   of the 2019 Original 16 WCT Bonspiel in Calgary, Alberta; and won 5-3 over Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB) in the quarterfinals.  of the 2019 Original 16 WCT Bonspiel in Calgary, Alberta; 
 
Vavrek finished 2-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Vavrek defeated Alberta's Jared Palanuik 5-4, then won 8-2 against Rob Johnson (Calgary, AB). Vavrek went on to lose 5-2 against Lyburn in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Original 16 WCT Bonspiel, Vavrek take home 20.272 world rankings points along with the $4,200CDN prize, moving up 18 spots the World Ranking Standings into 65th place overall with 74.654 total points. Vavrek ranks 48th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 48.811 points earned so far this season.
