To advance to the championship game, Laplante/Gibeau won 9-4 over Sophie Sanscartier/Maxandre Caron (Quebec, QC) in the semifinals of the 2020 GOLDLINE Valleyfield Mixed Doubles in Valleyfield, Quebec; and won 7-4 over Genevieve Frappier/Martin Begin (Rosemere, QC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2020 GOLDLINE Valleyfield Mixed Doubles in Valleyfield, Quebec;
Laplante/Gibeau finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laplante/Gibeau defeated Ginette Simard/Marc Cote (Saguenay, QC) 9-1, then won 7-4 against Karina Theriault/Joe Beland (Riviere-du-Loup, QC) and 7-6 against Frappier/Begin in their final qualifying round match.
