CHAMPION: Laplante/Gibeau Wins 2020 GOLDLINE Valleyfield Mixed Doubles

Audrey Laplante/Jasmin Gibeau (Thurso, QC) won 8-4 over Edith Cottenoir/Pierre Lanoue (Chicoutimi, QC) in the Final of the GOLDLINE Valleyfield Mixed Doubles, held January 10 - 12, 2020 in Valleyfield, Quebec. To advance to the championship game, Laplante/Gibeau won 9-4 over Sophie Sanscartier/Maxandre Caron (Quebec, QC) in the semifinals of the 2020 GOLDLINE Valleyfield Mixed Doubles in Valleyfield, Quebec; and won 7-4 over Genevieve Frappier/Martin Begin (Rosemere, QC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2020 GOLDLINE Valleyfield Mixed Doubles in Valleyfield, Quebec;

Laplante/Gibeau finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Laplante/Gibeau defeated Ginette Simard/Marc Cote (Saguenay, QC) 9-1, then won 7-4 against Karina Theriault/Joe Beland (Riviere-du-Loup, QC) and 7-6 against Frappier/Begin in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the GOLDLINE Valleyfield Mixed Doubles Championship title, Laplante/Gibeau earned 12.047 world rankings points along with the $310CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 668th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 12.046 after improving upon their best so far this season. Laplante/Gibeau ranks 74th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 23.876 points earned so far this season.
