Advancing directly to the semifinals, Ruohonen won 8-3 over Dominik Maerki (Chaska, MN) to advance to the championship game. of the 2019 Beyer & Simonson US Open of Curling - Championships in Blaine, Minnesota, United States;
 
Ruohonen finished 4-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ruohonen defeated Jason Smith (Blaine , MN) 8-1, then went on to lose 6-5 against Maerki. Ruohonen responded with a 7-2 win over Luc Violette (Chaska, MN). Ruohonen won 6-3 against Scott Dunnam (Philadelphia, PA), then won 6-2 against Dropkin in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Beyer & Simonson US Open of Curling - Championships Championship title, Ruohonen earned 24.870 world rankings points along with the $5,320CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 22nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 13.989 after improving upon their best so far this season. Ruohonen ranks 13th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 51.436 points earned so far this season.
