Steve Shuttleworth (Fairbanks, AK) finished 4-3 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shuttleworth defeated Kenneth Starkey (Shorewood, MN) 7-2, then won 6-3 against Lyle Sieg (Blaine, WA). Shuttleworth went on to lose 8-6 against Geoff Goodland (Eau Claire, WI). Shuttleworth lost 7-2 to Ross Litman (Duluth, MN) where Shuttleworth responded with a 8-3 win over Mark Olson (Milton, WI). Shuttleworth won 8-3 against Doug Cameron (Duluth, MN). Shuttleworth went on to lose 9-5 against Gert Messing (Ballston Lake, NY) in their final qualifying round match.
