In their opening game, Higgins lost 6-4 to John Likely (Charlottetown, PEI), droppimg another game, 8-6 to Tyler Smith (Charlottetown, PEI) where Higgins responded with a 10-4 win over Jamie Newson (Summerside, PEI). Higgins won 8-2 against Smith. Higgins went on to lose 7-2 against Likely in their final qualifying round match.

Higgins earned 0.338 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 82 spots the World Ranking Standings into 554th place overall with 0.338 total points. Higgins ranks 503rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 0.338 points earned so far this season.
