In their opening game, Nicko lost 8-7 to Jason Smith (Blaine, MN), then responded with a 9-7 win over Mike Siggins (Tempe, AZ). Nicko won 5-4 against Kevin Kakela (Hansboro, ND). Nicko went on to lose 7-5 against Jed Brundidge (St. Paul, SD). Nicko lost 7-5 to Brandon Corbett (Rochester, NY) in their final qualifying round match.

Nicko earned 1.238 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 204 spots the World Ranking Standings into 461st place overall with 1.238 total points. Nicko ranks 402nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.238 points earned so far this season.
