Kim Slattery (Vernon, BC) finished 3-0 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Slattery defeated Sheila Cowan (New Westminster, BC) 9-3, then won 7-2 against Nicole Backe (Victoria, BC) and 8-6 against Lindsay Hudyma (Vancouver, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the BC Scotties Open Event #1 Championship title, Slattery earned 14.844 world rankings points.
