Kim Slattery (Vernon, BC) finished 3-0 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Slattery defeated Sheila Cowan (New Westminster, BC) 9-3, then won 7-2 against Nicole Backe (Victoria, BC) and 8-6 against Lindsay Hudyma (Vancouver, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the BC Scotties Open Event #1 Championship title, Slattery earned 14.844 world rankings points. For week 18 of the event schedule, Slattery did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
