Steven Munroe (Levis, QC) is set to play Alek Bedard (Montreal, QC) in the Final of the Finale du Circuit, held November 29 - December 2, 2018 at the Aurèle Racine Curling Club in Tracy, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Munroe won 7-5 over Martin Crete (St-Romuald, QC) in the semifinals of the 2018 Finale du Circuit in Tracy, Quebec, Canada; and won 6-2 over Francois Gagne (Montreal, QC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 Finale du Circuit in Tracy, Quebec, Canada;
Munroe finished 4-2 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Munroe lost 9-5 to Steve Holdaway (Montreal, QC), then responded with a 8-1 win over Mathieu Drapeau (Drummondville, QC). Munroe won 7-2 against Martin Ferland (Trois-Rivieres, QC), then won 6-1 against Jeffrey Stewart (Montreal, QC). Munroe went on to lose 7-6 against Yannick Martel (Kenogami, QC). Munroe responded with a 9-4 win over Jean-Sebastien Roy (Saguenay, QC) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Finale du Circuit Championship title, Munroe earned 18.941 world rankings points along with the $4,320CDN first prize cheque. Munroe move up 22 spots after posting a net gain of 15.453 points improving upon their best 7 results so far this season, ranking 74th overall with 59.588 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Munroe ranks 69th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 42.149 points earned so far this season.
