In their opening game, Husain lost 13-2 to Rich Ruohonen (Chaska, USA), then responded with a 10-9 win over Marcelo Mello (Sao Paolo, BRZ). Husain went on to lose 9-3 against Ruohonen. Husain responded with a 8-7 win over Mello in their final qualifying round match.
