SooHyuk Kim (Seoul, KOR) finished 5-3 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kim lost 8-6 to Qiang Zou (Beijing, CHN), then responded with a 11-1 win over Nassar Alyafei (Doha, QAT). Kim won 7-3 against Jay Merchant (Sydney, AUS), then won 10-6 against Jason Chang (Hong Kong, HKG) and 11-4 against Randie Shen (Taipei, TPE). Kim went on to lose 8-7 against Yuta Matsumura (Sapporo, JPN). Kim lost 8-6 to Scott Becker (Naseby, NZL) where Kim responded with a 15-3 win over Viktor Kim (Almaty, KAZ) in their final qualifying round match.

Kim earned 15.141 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Pacific-Asia Curling Championships, moving up 21 spots the World Ranking Standings into 81st place overall with 51.588 total points. Kim ranks 48th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 42.571 points earned so far this season.
