To advance to the championship game, Dow won 6-1 over Jeffrey Stewart (Montreal, QC) in the semifinals of the 2018 Challenge de Curling de Gatineau Open in Gatineau, Quebec; and won 5-4 over Benoit Gagne (Montreal, QC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 Challenge de Curling de Gatineau Open in Gatineau, Quebec;
Dow finished 3-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dow defeated Martin Patry (Buckingham, QC) 7-4, then won 7-1 against Stephane Michaud (Trois-Rivieres, QC). Dow went on to lose 7-1 against Verreault. Dow responded with a 7-3 win over Sylvain Bellavance (Boucherville, QC) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Challenge de Curling de Gatineau Open Championship title, Dow earned 12.475 world rankings points along with the $2,400CDN first prize cheque. Dow move up 3 spots after posting a net gain of 6.468 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 69th overall with 60.537 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Dow ranks 106th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 12.475 points earned so far this season.
