Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) finished 5-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated Mark Fenner (Chaska, USA) 11-1, then went on to lose 6-5 against Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI). Edin responded with a 5-4 win over Masaki Iwai (Sapporo, JPN). Edin won 8-7 against Fenner, then won 9-5 against Schwaller and 7-2 against Iwai in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Curling World Cup Jonkoping, Edin take home 40.025 world rankings points along with the $22,909CDN prize, remaining in 3rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 12.451 after improving upon their best so far this season. Edin ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 354.921 points earned so far this season.
