Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) finished 2-4 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schwaller lost 10-4 to Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR), then responded with a 10-4 win over Yuta Matsumura (Sapporo, JPN). Schwaller went on to lose 8-2 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Schwaller responded with a 6-5 win over Ulsrud. Schwaller went on to lose 6-4 against Matsumura. Schwaller lost 8-4 to Edin in their final qualifying round match.

Schwaller earned 5.895 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 18th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 1.503 after improving upon their best so far this season. Schwaller ranks 17th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 154.799 points earned so far this season.
