Burgess won 5-3 against Gary Weiss (Thunder Bay, ON), then won 5-3 against Hailey Beaudry (Thunder Bay, ON) and 5-2 against Ben Mikkelsen (Thunder Bay, ON). Burgess went on to lose 6-5 against Bonot.
