To advance to the championship game, Howard won 6-1 over Pat Ferris (Grimsby, ON) in the semifinals of the 2018 NISSAN Curling Classic in Paris, Ontario, Canada; and won 5-3 over Ian Dickie (Newmarket, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 NISSAN Curling Classic in Paris, Ontario, Canada;
Howard finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Howard defeated 's Rylan Hartley 8-1, then won 9-4 against 's Paul Moffatt and 8-1 against John Willsey (Waterloo, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the NISSAN Curling Classic Championship title, Howard earned 30.464 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque. Howard move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 6.718 points improving upon their best 7 results so far this season, ranking 9th overall with 330.913 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
