Fitzner-Leblanc finished 2-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fitzner-Leblanc defeated Kurt Roach (Sydney, NS) 9-6, then went on to lose 6-3 against Thompson. Fitzner-Leblanc responded with a 7-5 win over Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
