Jinho Cha (Seoul, KOR) finished 3-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cha defeated Finland's Yrjo Jaaskalainen 9-1, then won 11-1 against Andrej Daskevic (Vilnius, LTU). Cha went on to lose 8-2 against Viljar Villiste (Tallinn, EST). Cha responded with a 6-5 win over Latvia's Polina Rozkova in their final qualifying round match.
