Beth Peterson (Winnipeg, MB) won 8-1 over Alyssa Calvert (Brandon, MB) in the Final of the MCT Championships, held December 7 - 9, 2018 at the East St. Paul Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Peterson won 7-1 over Barb Spencer (Sanford, MB) in the semifinals of the 2018 MCT Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;
Peterson finished 2-1 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Peterson defeated Joelle Brown (Winnipeg, MB) 6-3, then went on to lose 9-8 against Calvert. Peterson responded with a 6-3 win over Laura Burtnyk (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the MCT Championships Championship title, Peterson earned 23.084 world rankings points along with the $1,300CDN first prize cheque. Peterson move up 10 spots after posting a net gain of 20.752 points improving upon their best 7 results so far this season, ranking 28th overall with 134.918 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Peterson ranks 22nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 107.140 points earned so far this season.
