Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) finished 4-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mouat defeated Masaki Iwai (Sapporo, JPN) 9-1, then went on to lose 11-1 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, CAN). Mouat responded with a 5-4 win over Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI). Mouat won 9-2 against Iwai, then won 3-1 against Koe. Mouat went on to lose 6-5 against De Cruz in their final qualifying round match.

Mouat earned 35.740 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, dropping 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 4th place overall with 403.545 total points. Mouat ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 56.496 points earned so far this season.
