Rich Ruohonen (Chaska, USA) finished 2-4 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ruohonen defeated Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) 5-3, then won 6-5 against Jia Liang Zang (Harbin, CHN). Ruohonen went on to lose 9-1 against Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR). Ruohonen lost 9-8 to Edin. Ruohonen lost 5-3 to Zang. Ruohonen lost 9-3 to Walstad in their final qualifying round match.
