Kevin Koe (Calgary, CAN) finished 5-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koe defeated Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI) 6-4, then won 11-1 against Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) and 8-2 against Masaki Iwai (Sapporo, JPN). Koe won 7-4 against De Cruz. Koe went on to lose 3-1 against Mouat. Koe responded with a 12-4 win over Iwai in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Curling World Cup Suzhou Championship title, Koe earned 63.071 world rankings points along with the $35,848CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 3rd place overall with 423.175 total points. Koe ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 63.071 points earned so far this season.
