To advance to the championship game, Niepage won 9-0 over Codie Harris (Newmarket, ON) in the semifinals of the Stu Sells U18 Junior Tankard in Weston, Ontario, Canada;

In their opening game, Niepage defeated Dylan Fitzsimmons (Oakville, ON) 10-4, then won 7-1 against Christopher Inglis (Ottawa, ON) and 8-7 against Daniel Del Conte (Hamilton, ON).
