To advance to the championship game, Brydone won 5-2 over Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2018 Grand Prix Bern Inter Curling Challenge in Bern, Switzerland; and won 6-4 over Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 Grand Prix Bern Inter Curling Challenge in Bern, Switzerland;
Brydone finished 4-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brydone defeated Jan Iseli (Biel, SUI) 7-3, then went on to lose 4-3 against Hoesli. Brydone responded with a 7-0 win over Simon Gempeler (Adelboden, SUI). Brydone won 5-4 against Lucien Lottenbach (Luzern, SUI), then won 7-5 against Michael Mueller (Aarau, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Grand Prix Bern Inter Curling Challenge, Brydone take home 17.494 world rankings points along with the $4,581CDN prize. Brydone move up 10 spots after posting a net gain of 10.619 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 55th overall with 76.167 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Brydone ranks 68th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 28.040 points earned so far this season.
